Zum zweiten Mal trifft sich die europäische Wakesurf-Elite in Linz. Insgesamt drei Stops müssen die Rider im Zuge der European Wakesurf Tour absolvieren, um sich für die WM in Las Vegas/USA zu qualifizieren.
For the second time in a row, the best European Wakesurfers gather in Linz. The tour consists of three stops (Switzerland, Austria & Germany).

Wakesurfen ist eine noch recht junge Wassersportart, erfreut sich aber schnell wachsender Beliebtheit. Entstanden ist das Wakesurfen aus dem Wellenreiten am Meer und der Suche nach surfbaren Wellen abseits der Küstengebiete. Mit speziellen Motorbooten wird eine Heckwelle erzeugt, die von den Surfern wie eine „echte“ Welle am Meer geritten werden kann. Ganz anders als beim Wakeboarden oder Wasserskifahren wird der Sportler dabei nicht an einer Leine hinter dem Boot hergezogen, sondern surft die Welle völlig frei, was ihm ein Gefühl völliger Ungebundenheit vermittelt.

Wakesurfing is a young watersport which booms more and more around the globe. The early start of this sport was ocean surfing. After years of development - people found a way to surf a wave in continental areas. With the help of special engineered powerboats the riders managed to create a beautiful wave which could be ridden similar to the waves in the ocean. Different to wakeboarding or waterskiing, the rider actually rides without the help of a rope. It is only with the wave created by the boat that one can ride which brings this feeling of freedom.

Beim Contest werden die Teilnehmer von einer drei-köpfigen Jury nach Ausführung, Stil und Schwierigkeitsgrad der gezeigten Tricks bewertet. Dieses Jahr rechnen die Veranstalter mit Teilnehmern aus Österreich, Deutschland, Schweiz, Frankreich und Russland. Für das leibliche Wohl der Besucher ist gesorgt, Slacklines, Musik (Kings Crown Sound) und Verkaufsstände (NU.ART-surfstuff, Stadtrandsufer, sSynonoym) gewährleisten gute Laune und Unterhaltung zwischen den Runs. 

During the competition the riders will be juried by 3 judges on their style, consistency and difficulty of tricks. The event organizers will host riders from Austria, Germany, Switzerland, France & Russia. Next to the contest, the crowd will be entertained with music by Kings Crown Sound, Slacklines and enough to eat and drink. We will also have exhibitors with surf fashion and equipment (NU.ART-surfstuff, Stadtrandsurfer, sSynononym)
